Vehicle Extrication

During the second weekend every March, CARS hosts VEHEXT. This 3-day class teaches students basic and advanced vehicle rescue techniques. Students spend the first day learning about vehicle anatomy, a systematic approach vehicle rescue, winch operations, and much more. Days 2 and 3 are hands-on training spent at a local junkyard learning how to use various extrication tools and working through various extrication scenarios.  Day 3 culminates with the Colossal Crash, where students’ knowledge is put to the test in a complex scenario.
